Oh No! Exam Results!

Hiya Guys,

I know that within the next few weeks, a lot of you lovely people will be getting exam results for either your GCSE's or A levels and I am in the same boat as all of you guys. I know that I am so stressed out by the day looming (13th Aug - unlucky?) and my mum is giving me tips to try and calm me down, so I thought I'd try and pass down something to you. Whether you choose to take them or do what I do and stress anyway is up to you! :)

1. What's done is done
So as blunt as it sounds, there is no point dwelling on anything to do with exams. What you got represents what you were back then and as long as you can say that you tried your best then stressing now will do no difference. You did them then and there is nothing you can do now to change it so you might as well accept what happened.

2. Exams do not define you as a person
I know that adults everywhere will make a huge deal of these results and telling you that your life counts on it. Well it doesn't! These results may matter to universities, colleges or universities but isn't what people think of you count more? I mean they won't care how many As-Cs you got. They'll care about the content of your character and how nice you are! Many people have lived amazing lives without top grades and sometimes have been much happier! (Don't use this to not try because not trying makes your character a lot worse)

3. Have back-up plans
These do not make you less of a person but it can make your life so much easier. Sometimes things happen for a reason and if you know what to do in case you don't get what you want then it'll get a lot of people off your backs. This could be knowing what to do when you get your results such as clearing or what to do if you want to retake exams.

4. Don't compare yourself to anyone else
Your friends and colleagues are going to have different strengths and weaknesses from you and this will correspond to different aspirations and results. This is nothing to worry about! You are your own person and it shouldnt matter what anyone else achieved because you are unique! Don't be pressured into sharing results if you don't want too and never be ashamed because all the results do is tell you what you're good at and what you need to work on.

5. Stay positive with a good support team around you
There is no point breaking down and letting the grades affect you for your whole life. If they aren't what you wanted or needed then get up, wipe the dust off and move on. It also helps if you have people around you that care for you and won't judge you. You don't need people making snide remarks or saying what could've been because they weren't in your shoes. Also, don't bottle in your emotions. I burst into tears last year before I even got my AS results and luckily my mum was amazing and helped me calm down - these are the people you need!

So that was my attempt to help these next few weeks go ahead without much bother because I think we all need someone to help us. Even if, like with this post, it wasn't much use to many people!
So keep your chins up and I really hope everything works out for you!

Good luck my lovelies

That's all for now my dears,
See you soon

xxx

Lawson - Perspective Track by Track Album Review

Hiya Guys, You may be shocked to hear that this post brings back Music Friday **except it's on a Tuesday *so it's Tune Tuesday* bc why not** In 2012, 4 piece band Lawson released their debut album Chapman Squar e which peaked at number 4 in the UK album charts with emotional and heart wrenching tracks like Stolen and The Girl I Knew.  Fast forward 4 years, of which included Andy having a near death experience and months of writing, the long awaited second album  Perspective has finally been released. This album takes a very different approach and style from the first album and is a lot more upbeat and happy than Chapman Square. This is an absolutely amazing album filled with love, passion, some brilliant chord progressions, amazing vocals and some awesome guitar solos! So here is my track by track review of the album and please bare with me and read to the end *it is worth it*: Perspective (Intro) This track is a great way to start the new album and real...

My Dissertation Story

Hi my lil' fairies Hasn't it been a long time since I've spoken to you lovely people? Well my title can probably tell you why. I am in my third year of university and the last few months have consisted of research and writing my dissertation. However, after a solid 7 months, I finally handed my dissertation in on Monday and I can't tell you how much of a weight has been lifted off me. It's almost like this 10, 966 words (I know, I cut it very finely on the word count) have become part of me, mainly because I have invested so much time and effort into it. Before I even started to stress about writing it, I had to come up with an idea for it. I chose my overall topic the year before and this meant that I had to pick within the topic, but it didn't mean restrictions - it was the opposite for me. I picked the cultural revolution in Germany and Britain and this gave me endless possibilities. Initially, I chose to do Britain because I thought that my lack of Ger...

My Comprehensive not so Comprehensive Guide to Packing for University

Hiya Guys, I've been writing and re-writing different posts on university and after writing things seriously, I've decided to be less serious and write how I have managed to avoid failing at preparing for university. Here is my guide on how to pack, it isn't amazing but I haven't gone mad yet: 1. Make lists, almost like an inventory of things to pack Now I do think that this is partly because I like to procrastinate and I love the look and feeling of actually writing things. I am on list number 5 at the moment and it really helps in terms of figuring out what needs to be packed and when you need to pack things up, you can make sure that you don't forget anything. Make sure that you have one listing what you've packed as things go in the suitcase and, to avoid wasting time, put in things that you definitely know need to be packed the day before (this can be thing like hairdryer and hair straighteners). 2. Don't pack too much but don't pac...
