Lawson Mini Tour

Hiya guys,

Sonal here again, two posts within the space of 7 days must be a new record for me!

Another week signalled another concert for me, and this time it was Lawson at Gorilla in Manchester. I have been a fan of them since 2011 and was so excited seeing them again!

Considering I was waiting in the cold and the rain for 3 solid hours, I was happy to walk into Gorilla and find that I was pretty much 3 rows from the front. I situated myself on the left side because on the Chapman Square Tour I was on the right in front of Ryan, so I thought 'Why not treat myself to some Joel Peat' so that's what I did. I took my sister and my mum (who is a huge fan too) and it almost felt like a bonding session because it was the first time either of them had the privilege to see them live so I was excited and nervous.

I don't normally get too excited by the support acts but Andreas Moe was definitely an exception. From the way he managed to play 3 instruments in his set (harmonica, drum and guitar), to his input in singing Taking Over Me with Andy, I really would recommend anyone to listen to his music because it oozes passion and is along the same lines as the songs on Chapman Square.

Getting to the main act of the night, they were a fair bit late... well 30 minutes but I don't expect any less from our boys but I cannot blame them. I blame the sound man who spent a solid 10 minutes testing Andy Brown's microphone calling, '1,2 Andy Brown, Centre Mic' over and over. After getting a fair few heckles, he left and on came the 4 boys we had been waiting for. Apologising for their technical difficulties, we were treated by a brand new song!

I think that leads on to one of my main highlights which was the amazing setlist. I loved the mix of new songs, inc. Roads and the classics such as When She Was Mine and my mum's, and possibly the worlds, favourite Standing In The Dark. I could reminisce on the last album but get utterly excited for the new one which has something for everyone.

Here is a little snippet of one of my new favourite songs:

I also loved the energy throughout. Andy was rocking the stage, Joel was pulling his world famous faces, Adam was smiling all the way throughout and Ryan was being muy sexy... wait they were all sexy so that is invalid, so I will say that Ryan was just being a showman. It's normally hard to exert energy when you're stuck behind an instrument, but although they weren't gallivanting round the stage like McBusted, they put on an amazing show that got my adrenaline pumping to it's extreme.

I mean I don't know if the Lawson boys will ever see this, but if you do I just want to say thank you for everything. Not just Monday night, but these last 4 years that you've never ceased to make me smile in every possible way! You aren't like those other bands who release an album, do promo then tour, you put us first and your main priority is always shows and you never disappoint me no matter how big or small the venue is!

And to all of you who maybe haven't heard of Lawson, or seen them live or even you are contemplating it, just go and see them if you want to have the most amazing time of your life because that's what you'll get! If I could score this tour, it would get 100/10 and I would score them this even if I was unbias :)

That's all for now my dears,
See you soon

xx

Here's a Joel GIF I use way too much :)

What the Future holds!

Hi my lil' fairies It's been a month since I've graduated and, since that day, I've been hit with questions left, right and centre about what I'm going to do with the rest of my life. As I've said in the last post, that scares me shitless because I still think I'm too young to know what the future's going to be like and I'm in denial that I'm not in education anymore to use as an excuse... That's not to say that I've been sat on my arse since I finished in May! As soon as I got home, I was lucky enough to have a job at Hollister waiting for me so, as long as I can get the hours, that's what I'll be doing to pass the time and earn some cash. On top of that, I'm also trying to get work experience here and there, apply for jobs and still do all the stuff I love like writing my blogs and stories. However, the fact that I've been so busy, has helped me not like go into an existential crisis BUT it means I've always

Ear Piercing Debate

Hi my lil' fairies, It seems like all I ever seem to do is complain about what I've seen on my usual weekday morning television schedule, which normally includes Lorraine, This Morning and Loose Women! I can normally watch pretty much any segment and understand both perspectives, but, today, I watched a segment about a debate that has been talked about before and is just increasingly angering me each time. Would you let your toddler get their ears pierced? Here's the video from the last time it was debated: I know it's a question that raises controversy but my main issue was the argument from the woman who opposed it: getting your toddler's ears pierced is child abuse. EXCUSE ME?!? Here's my stance on this issue as a whole: I got my ears pierced when I was a small baba because it's pretty much normal in my culture and the same thing happened to my sister when she was little. I never found anything weird about it and, fast forward 20

Halloween Costume Controversy Response

Hello my lil' fairies Sometimes, I'll be watching daytime telly (Loose Women, This Morning etc) and I'll stumble upon a topic of discussion that really sparks a reaction inside of me which I normally respond to by tweets. This morning I was watching Good Morning Britain and a topic came up that I knew needed a lot more than just 240 characters. It's something that is extremely close to my heart and really relevant at the moment. I am a massive Disney fan and meeting the characters and Princesses at Disneyworld are memories I won't forget. It's also Halloween and millions of little children are going out to buy costumes of their favourite Princesses like Cinderella, Elsa and Jasmine. So, you can imagine my surprise when I heard Susanna Reid and Richard Madeley talking about the cultural appropriation of Halloween costumes, and in particular Moana and Elsa costumes. My view might be controversial in this PC society but, as someone of ethnic origin, I thin
