5SOS Sounds Live, Feels Live x2

Hiya Guys, I was extremely quiet last week but on top of essay's, I had some busy evenings in the form of going to see WWE live in Manchester and two night's of 5SOS. So, back onto what I love doing the most on this blog - MUSIC FRIDAY CONCERT REVIEW!! The weeks preceding the 5 Seconds of Summer concerts, I didn't really feel an overwhelming sense of excitement due to university work but come the Friday morning, I was itching to see these 4 Aussie idiots again! Then by Sunday morning, after two amazing nights, I was feeling down and suffering 'post 5SOS-itous' and it was because they were two amazing nights. Luke and Michael admitted from the word go that they were not feeling on top of the world as they both had dry throats and felt very ill. Well all I can say is that if I sounded as good as they did when they were ill normally then I would be more than happy. Although I thought they were brilliant on Friday, you could tell that they were much happier ...

Bassists are important too!

Hiya Guys, So last week I did a pretty in depth blogpost about my obsession for the underrated task of being a drummer but that got me thinking. Bassists are also very underrated as they're part of the quiet yet necessary bass section so I thought about doing a similar post but for bassists. The bass guitar is a wondrous instrument and if played correctly, it completely change a track and, if heard, it can be the most magical part of a song and encapsulate an audience. Everyone always complains how it is just a crappy version of a guitar with 4 strings but, to all those people, be gone with you demons! So here are my top bassists in no particular order. Please do not hate if I've missed huge bass idols but these are just the ones I listen too and who have made a huge impact in my life. I also do not wish to pretend that I know about playing bass so, if I am technically wrong, then please do not criticise as I am a novice on the bass section. 1. Ryan Fletcher from Law...

Music Friday Appreciates Drummers

Hiya Guys, So Music Friday has not been as regular as I had first wanted but as you all know, education can sometimes shuffle those priorities around but now I am back on my feet, this should be a lot easier to maintain. So the title is basically self explanatory and directly addresses what the topic of this post is about. You either love them and take in every single beat or you think that they are loud and irrelevant. Obviously, I fit into the first category because otherwise I wouldn't be writing this post about some of my favourite drummers that some you'll be aware of and some you probably won't. Ever since I got into 'proper' music, in that I mean more music heavily based on instruments rather than just vocals or dances, and became a huge part of my high school's music department, the concept of the drum and how they are played really stands out for me in every piece of music I listen to. It has gotten so bad that sometimes I manage to tune ou...

My Trip into Shoreditch

Hiya Guys, So, this weekend I ventured into the wider area of London and went to Shoreditch with some of my friends. My travels started with a trip underground, a walk to a cereal cafe, a trip to a Jewish bakery and then an adventure to find a wall. Sounds interesting? Well I'll give you a short insight into my day! The Cereal Killer Cafe in Shoreditch is extremely tiny and if you didn't know about it and what it looked like, you would've missed it. It is located on the amazing and famous Brick Lane along with hundreds of weird and wonderful shops as well as beautiful smelling food (especially during Sunday Market Day). The cafe is extremely hipster and when you walk in, the first thing that you see is the lines and lines of cereal boxes on the furthest wall filled with things from typical weetabix to cinnabons. As we walked to downstairs, it felt like we were stepping into the 1960s with video tapes and old boyband posters scattered. None of it worked together ...

Music Friday? - 5SOS SGFG

Hiya guys, So, I knew it was going to happen. I missed my deadline for my first music Thursday but I have a valid reason and it all sort of comes together. I have a huge assignment due in but it's finished, luckily doing it today means I can review 5 Second of Summer's new album Sounds Good Feels Good which came out this morning. Here is my guide to each song as I hear it! 1. Money Now I wasnt too keen on this song when I first heard it but I gave it a few chances and it is growing on me. The chorus is catchy but what I love most is the authenticity and how Feldman recorded your conversations and kept it within the track. I think it's a great way to start the album, with something upbeat and carries on with SLSP and the whole upbeat way to start. 2. She's Kinda Hot You do not know how excited I was for this song bc obviously it was the first one to be properly released. I hate how people think it's the second SLSP because, if you listen to it care...

5 Seconds of Summer ROWYSO Manchester

Hiya Guys, It's been a while and that is mostly because my A Levels have started and my mind is in full revision mode. But I had a nice day off yesterday and, as usual, my title basically tells you what this post is going to be about. After a hella' stressful trip which took us (me, mum and sister) an hour to get to the arena, we finally arrived and I got my chill back and some McDonald's. Taking a look at the merch store (which is always my favourite part of the pre-concert ritual) and the horrendous prices, I settled with a programme and queued up to go inside... I was surrounded by two types of girls that night: Girls of different ages who were dressed like they should've been at prom People who were dressed in all black or plaid (which I fitted into) The latter I found easier to look at, I didn't see the point of dressing in such a way because you were there to enjoy yourself not get married. I could go on for ages on this topic but it's not why...
