Lawson from my Perspective

Hiya guys, These last few weeks have been so stressful for me so I had a great break last night as I made my way to O2 Islington to watch Lawson on their one off show with their new album Perspective *do you get the title pun now?* The venue was small and compact but larger than life in terms of height and acoustics. I was worried I would be near the back because there was the VIP and O2 priority queue that got in before us. However, I didn't have to worry because I somehow managed to get right near the front behind some of the VIP (imagine 2 rows behind the barrier) and my height was happy. John Buckley was the first support act and he was utterly talented. He said that this was his first performance on such a big scale but it really didn't show because he was confident and really knew what to do to get a crowd going. His voice is very special but it's his song writing skills that amazed me because they sounded so professional and meaningful as he sang with his guit...

Lawson - Perspective Track by Track Album Review

Hiya Guys, You may be shocked to hear that this post brings back Music Friday **except it's on a Tuesday *so it's Tune Tuesday* bc why not** In 2012, 4 piece band Lawson released their debut album Chapman Squar e which peaked at number 4 in the UK album charts with emotional and heart wrenching tracks like Stolen and The Girl I Knew.  Fast forward 4 years, of which included Andy having a near death experience and months of writing, the long awaited second album  Perspective has finally been released. This album takes a very different approach and style from the first album and is a lot more upbeat and happy than Chapman Square. This is an absolutely amazing album filled with love, passion, some brilliant chord progressions, amazing vocals and some awesome guitar solos! So here is my track by track review of the album and please bare with me and read to the end *it is worth it*: Perspective (Intro) This track is a great way to start the new album and real...

Lawson at Manchester Sound Control

Hiya Guys, So it's Music Friday (I really need to think of a catchier name) and this week's is another concert review and this time for Lawson. I went to see them last night at Sound Control with my mum and, even though I've seen them live 3 time this year, it felt like the first time. I will be honest and say there aren't any photos because I went to enjoy it and listen to the music. The venue was extremely small but I always prefer it that way and it was also nice and spread out. I guess that because the audience is older, there was no over excitement which meant no pushing or chance of injury. I got a nice place near the sound station near the metal barriers (which were great to stand on as I'm basically a midget) and this let me enjoy the show so much more. We were treated to 2 support acts. The first was chosen by the fans and were 3 brothers in a band called Frontiers. I really liked the whole family aspect and they had amazing voices so check the...
