My Magical Floridian Holiday

Hi Guys, I've been quiet for a few weeks and there's been a reason for that, I was lucky enough to be able to jet off to Orlando in Florida with my family for two weeks for a fortnight of magic and fun. I just got back yesterday and I don't think I'm ready to give up that feeling. This means that the next few posts on this blog are going to be based on my holiday. This post is just a quick look back because the holiday was filled through so much that I couldn't even think about writing about it in one post. I had high expectations for this trip because it's been about 8 years since I'd last been and my love for Disney has just grown. There were some major differences from the last time I went. The biggest thing was that we stayed at a Aparthotel last time whereas, this time, we stayed at Disney's All Star Music Resort. Even though it's one of the cheaper options, it didn't make the trip any less magical and made life much easier but I...

Lawson from my Perspective

Hiya guys, These last few weeks have been so stressful for me so I had a great break last night as I made my way to O2 Islington to watch Lawson on their one off show with their new album Perspective *do you get the title pun now?* The venue was small and compact but larger than life in terms of height and acoustics. I was worried I would be near the back because there was the VIP and O2 priority queue that got in before us. However, I didn't have to worry because I somehow managed to get right near the front behind some of the VIP (imagine 2 rows behind the barrier) and my height was happy. John Buckley was the first support act and he was utterly talented. He said that this was his first performance on such a big scale but it really didn't show because he was confident and really knew what to do to get a crowd going. His voice is very special but it's his song writing skills that amazed me because they sounded so professional and meaningful as he sang with his guit...

What to do when you're bored but lazy af!

Hiya guys, I have been quiet for pretty much a month and a bit and there is only word to describe my absence: Exams! Coming home early in the year, when I am used to finishing late June or July, has made me realise how much of my time my education takes up. I end up doing the same things so here are things to do this summer when you can't really be arsed leaving the house. So basically a more laid back and cheap version of last year's list! Whether you take this seriously or not is up to you ;) 1. Get a Tumblr For those of you who already have one, then you'll know why I've put this one on the list. Make an account, follow a few blogs who post things that you like, search some tags and then do this pretty much all day. It takes up much more time than you'd think and opens your eyes to some awesome and sometimes weird things. NB: if you're a prude, don't go on tumblr in the midst of the night because shit gets cray. 2. Watch a new TV series... or ...

Music Friday - Beside the Bridge

Hiya guys, Looks like I might actually be managing to stick to doing 'Music Friday' and this week is something I have been wanting to do for a while! (I also have a new twitter dedicated to this blog so follow @mymadworld96 as well as my personal @Full_Time_Nerd). About a year ago, I was doing my usual 'let's spend 5 hours on Youtube' and I stumbled upon a Swedish band called Beside the Bridge who did a cover of 5 Seconds of Summer's English Love Affair . Fast forward 12 months later and they have become one of my favourite band's and, although I wanted to keep them my little secret, I decided that they are too talented to not show to the world (and my small number of readers). Funny thing is that I am watching them as I write this. Beside the Bridge is a Rock Band (Listen to Weigh You Down) from Balsta, Sweden and consists of Charlie Karlgren, Joel Chew, Ludvig Algovik, Niklas Wistrand and Rasmus Blomquist. They are friends before band mat...
