Christmas at University *Top Tips for a Festive Month*

Hi my lil' Christmas Fairies, It's my absolute favourite time of the year and I can quite honestly say that I've been excited for Christmas since my birthday (which was the 1st Oct). However, come December, although I'm trying to get into the Christmas spirit, I have to remember that I'm in my 3rd year of university and have deadlines galore. So then, how do you get a flat (of two) and yourself into the Christmas mood when the education system wants to keep you down with essays and readings? Here is how I got ready for the Christmas season (I have not been sponsored for any of this but this is just where I bought all my stuff): 1. Christmas Tree (£4 from B&Q) What is the first thing you think about when someone mentions Christmas? For me it's the Christmas Tree and buying the perfect one for your place. Everything is ready for me at home but as a student, with a small flat and limited budget, it's sometimes so hard to find a tree that's

Halloween Costume Controversy Response

Hello my lil' fairies Sometimes, I'll be watching daytime telly (Loose Women, This Morning etc) and I'll stumble upon a topic of discussion that really sparks a reaction inside of me which I normally respond to by tweets. This morning I was watching Good Morning Britain and a topic came up that I knew needed a lot more than just 240 characters. It's something that is extremely close to my heart and really relevant at the moment. I am a massive Disney fan and meeting the characters and Princesses at Disneyworld are memories I won't forget. It's also Halloween and millions of little children are going out to buy costumes of their favourite Princesses like Cinderella, Elsa and Jasmine. So, you can imagine my surprise when I heard Susanna Reid and Richard Madeley talking about the cultural appropriation of Halloween costumes, and in particular Moana and Elsa costumes. My view might be controversial in this PC society but, as someone of ethnic origin, I thin

Skinny-Shaming

Hi my lil' fairies, Over the last few months, my posts have varied from really magical and lighthearted to one or two pretty deep and meaningful posts and I think that's what this blog is. It's something to read if you want something cheerful to read but also if you want to feel something or read about a really relevant topic. Today is one of those more serious posts and it's been on my mind for quite a while. Body shaming is something that has really gotten out of hand in this modern day and age but luckily we are realising that it's not right. It's not right to judge someone on their weight and we are constantly being told not to do it to anyone, right?  Wrong! We're in a great world where fat-shaming is no longer a thing - good riddance. BUT, where's this same equal mentality when it comes to people on the opposite end of the spectrum. Before I suddenly get a lot of abuse about how it's completely different and being skinny never caus

My Strictly Favourites

Hiya my lil' fairies, Strictly is well and truly underway and I feel like that starts an actual routine in my life based on the Strictly TV schedule. Monday to Thursday is It Takes Two at 6:30, Friday is It Takes Two at 6:00, Saturday is the main show and Sunday is the results show. My week is filled from Strictly from start to finish! So we're three weeks in and I think it's time to write about my favourite couples and who I think are front runners: 1. Jonnie Peacock and Oti Mabuse I have always been a sucker for Jonnie from the 2012 Olympics and I have a slight obsession with Oti! So, I was thrilled at how surprisingly good Jonnie has been for an athlete, we might even have another Greg Rutherford on our hands? Oti always gives her partners great choreography and I think that Jonnie has perfectly adapted to her teaching style and is basking in her strict tactics. They work perfectly together and have pretty similar competitive ethics which makes for a perfect

My Top 5 Disney Moments...

Hello my lil fairies, Like I've said, I probably had some of the best moments of my life while I was in Disney and it almost seemed impossible to narrow it down to a top 5. Yet, it seems like it would be a waste to not try and get it down to a small list because it might help you if you ever decide to go. It's sort of my top 5 moments and stuff that you should probably do when you go there. 1. The Happily Ever After Fireworks If fireworks can make me cry then somebody has done an amazing job! The Happily Ever After Fireworks at Magic Kingdom was probably the most beautiful thing I had ever seen. Disney managed to put together amazing fireworks, detailed illuminations and a beautiful story to make a spectacular spectacle! The blend of old and new Disney meant that everyone could at least sing along to half of the show, with Toy Story and Moana, you can't say that they're not catering to the masses. I felt like you need to go and watch it twice, once to look at

Top Tips for a Magical Orlando Holiday

Hello my lil fairies,  Welcome to the second installment (of many) of my Orlando Holiday Post Saga and the new greeting. After two trips, I'm lucky enough to know a few tips that will make your holiday so much easier. A few of them I knew before hand but some I found out as each day passed and it saved a lot of stress and money. I mean there's no point going on holiday if you won't enjoy it because you're worrying about everything. 1. If you can, stay at a Disney Resort for your holiday Like I said in my last post, we stayed at an aparthotel with a kitchen and washing machine. Sure it made me feel like I was at home but it was really expensive. Most people assume that all Disney Resorts are mega expensive and a few are but there are some amazing budget resorts with the same perks. Looking at cheaper motels, there are still some Disney Hotels (Like the all-stars which are just basic rooms) which are pretty much the same price but without the benefits.

My Magical Floridian Holiday

Hi Guys, I've been quiet for a few weeks and there's been a reason for that, I was lucky enough to be able to jet off to Orlando in Florida with my family for two weeks for a fortnight of magic and fun. I just got back yesterday and I don't think I'm ready to give up that feeling. This means that the next few posts on this blog are going to be based on my holiday. This post is just a quick look back because the holiday was filled through so much that I couldn't even think about writing about it in one post. I had high expectations for this trip because it's been about 8 years since I'd last been and my love for Disney has just grown. There were some major differences from the last time I went. The biggest thing was that we stayed at a Aparthotel last time whereas, this time, we stayed at Disney's All Star Music Resort. Even though it's one of the cheaper options, it didn't make the trip any less magical and made life much easier but I

Why being short sometimes sucks!

Hiya guys, It's sometimes great to be short but most of the time it's shite! Being at max 5ft 1 has been the brunt of people's jokes since I was at high school because, believe it or not, I've actually been short my entire life. This not my fault because my parents are probably the shortest pairing in the world because my dad's 5ft 6 and my mum's 4ft 10 so you can't be surprised that I ended up this height. I don't really care sometimes because I can get into kids clothing and I don't stick out like a sore thumb in awkward situation. But that's where the advantages end and the problems are becoming more visible as I get older. I've been trying to find an outfit for a wedding in the winter and this is where the problems become seriously annoying. I CAN'T FIT INTO ANYTHING! I've been surfing hundreds of websites and visiting probably the same number of shops to find something to wear. I don't have the issue where I can&

Manchester Will Stand Strong

Hiya guys, Today is yet another different post and one that is really hard for me to write. I may be at university in London but I was born and still live in Manchester for most of the year. So, waking up this morning after my last exam was meant to be a sigh of relief but instead it was a sense of uneasiness and worry. I was woken up with a message from my Uncle in Canada wanting to know whether me and my sister were okay, this raised alarm bells straight away. Fast forward ten minutes and my eyes couldn't believe what I saw, a bomb had been set of at the Manchester Arena after an Ariana Grande concert and had killed around 22 people. I initially thought it was some kind of horrid joke that had gone too far because I knew people who were going to that concert last night and it was so close to home. The Manchester Arena has been such a massive part of my life and a place that has the best memories from seeing my first concert (S Club 7) to seeing some of my all time favou

WWE Cruiserweight Live Opinion - Dear Crowds...

Hiya guys, This post is way too negative for my own liking but, after my exam this morning, I was almost brought to tears while I was watching WWE RAW from last night. I needed somewhere to air my grievances and tonight I'm having a go at the crowd, not Creative or the superstars. I was enjoying last nights show and, as usual, I was way too excited for the Cruiserweights match. The whole Monday night show is just me waiting for some of the Cruiserweights to come on and put those superstars to shame with their ability and technique. Well, you can imagine how upset I was when 4 of my favourite stars, Neville/ TJP v Austin Aries/ Jack Gallagher) on the ENTIRE roster had a tag team match. Wait, no... I wasn't upset that they came on, I was upset about the crowd's reaction. Those chants of 'This is boring,' and how the crowd wanted a refund really made me feel sick. Okay, you may not connect to these stars as much as the ones that you've watched for years

An Open Letter to Exams

This is a letter from me and probably the entire population who are or who ever have taken you while they were studying. I know you mean well and to some people you are their saving grace because they understand how your brain works and how you are manipulated by the lecturers, teachers and examiners but, at the end of the day, I am not one of those people... and neither are a lot of people. For most of us, you come around once a year and that time of the year and it is literally hell! I try to avoid you when I'm picking my subjects but why is it that all of the best subjects have to have you as assessment? Cold War - Exam. Germany - Exam. Britain - Exam.  I'll pretty much enjoy the entire year learning different things that are genuinely interesting (except maths and science at GCSE because I was just shit at those subjects) and getting to put that knowledge into practise by making products or writing stories. It makes me want to carry on studying for my entire life

Wrestlemania Review

Hiya guys, Another wrestling post but it was the biggest night of the WWE calendar: WRESTLEMANIA! This is the first year I have watched it from the start to the end and, after the pain of some of the last pay-per-views like Summerslam, I really hoped that they would bring something massive out for the Ultimate Thrill Ride. Please don't read if you don't want spoilers! Pre-Show Cruiserweight Championship - Neville defeats Austin Aries This was a match that I really wanted to see on the main card because the 205 live roster has constantly been impressing me. None more so that the King of the Cruiserweights Neville who returned heel after a long break due to injury. This match actually had a real pop with the crowd showing their support for the opponent Austin Aries. This match really showed the crowd what talent these wrestlers have and how their small size really improves their mobility and skill set. There were some real tense moments where I thought that Nevil

Strictly Top 5 - Claudia and AJ

Hiya guys, The Strictly tour has been over for a while but my brain hasn't wrapped itself around the fact that I have to wait until September for it too start again. But, these Strictly posts are going to keep coming until I've maybe done one for every bit of Strictly possible. If you follow me on any of my social media, or have followed my last few posts, you'll know that Claudia Fragapane and AJ Pritchard were one of my favourite couples in the show and I was gutted that they didn't make it to the final. It wasn't just because they were amazing together and danced amazingly, I think it helped that they are pretty similar age as me (Claudia is 19, I'm 20 and AJ is 22) so I liked seeing some younger people dancing! I know that I put some of their dances in my other top 5's, but I'm going to do one anyway because most of their dances were phenomenal . 1. Jive to Hey Mickey If only there hadn't been that little slip up near the begin

Strictly Pro Dances of 2016

Hiya guys, It's been about over a month since Strictly has finished and I've been suffering even more post-Strictly sadness since the tour has started and I couldnt able to get any tickets so let's take a moment to cry for me... okay done! Over the last few years, Jason Gilkison and some of the other choreographers have produced some amazing group dances for the pros and I can't even think about picking a favourite, even in this series. I might to an overall one later but welcome too... Sonal's Top 5 Pro Dances of 2016... 1. Nicest Kids in Town This is probably one of my all time favourite dances and I used to watch it pretty much everyday. Even though I noticed some stuff, e.g. AJ dancing by himself *I still want to know the reasons why* it was amazing in every single way. It also helped that it was one of my favourite dances to one of my favourite songs. I love how they incorporated both the pros and the celebs in the Blackpool spectacular and it reall

Come on WWE...!

Hiya guys, 2016 was an odd year for WWE. With the draft being reintroduced, getting rid of the Diva's title and the debut of the phenomenal one, 2016 was a mixed bag of good changes and some just crap storylines and matches *cough cough Brock* but I have high hopes for 2017, even though a lot of other wrestling fans may me sceptical. 2017 has been a brilliant start for Smackdown which I believe is the show to watch with amazing talent like AJ Styles and a variety of different match set ups. Most of the superstars are getting an opportunity in some way, Dolph Ziggler finally turning heel, Heath Slater as Tag Team champion and some of the most popping matches that have been seen in a while, RAW has a lot to catch up with. They have repeated storylines, repeated matches and sometimes three hours can't finish quickly enough. But, with the introduction of the Cruiserweight Classic, the United Kingdom's Championship and the growth of NXT, there is so much potential i
