British Banter please?

Hiya guys,

After I wrote my last not-so-serious post about what to do in the summer (you know the one before the EU debacle) I thought I'd expand on what is really making my summer.

BRITISH COMEDIANS ARE SMASHING IT AND I AM ADDICTED!

There was once a time where we'd be begging for US comedians like Kevin Hart to come to England to give us our yearly dose of laughter. However, the tables have turned with British comedians being sought after to have slots on huge US talk shows such as The Tonight Tonight Show. Shows like Would I Lie to you, Mock The Week, QI and many others give new comedians a chance to work with some truly experienced and well known comedians.

So I have tried to do what I do best and list my 5 top comedians. I don't not like other comedians because I have way more than 5 favourites but these are the ones I watch the most. Also, many people have different tastes in comedians, like music, so I know that everyone won't agree with me.

1. Jack Whitehall
I know that many people do not enjoy Jack's humour due to his 'posh nature' or the belief that he only got where he was because of  his father. However, you cannot deny that Jack is extremely funny in his own write and can adapt his humour to other platforms such as film and TV shows *Fresh Meat and Bad Education are some of the funniest TV series I've watched.* His ability to take his differences, such as class and upbringing, and use it in his comedy without alienating the general working class audience is something very unique and hard to do. The writing of his stuff is coherent and flows extremely well from one to another and constantly has me in pieces, especially when things don't always go to plan. This is why he is probably, if not, my favourite comedian.

2. Russell Howard
Russell Howard is one of those comedians that started on the comedy show Mock The Week and soon became a fan favourite. It also created a platform for him to spread his wings as a comedian in his own right worldwide. His witty banter and ability to take any situation and pick out something funny allowed him to have his own weekly show *Russell Howard's Good News* where he spoke about what had happened in the weekly news. One thing that is also pretty special about Russell is his accents and impersonations of various famous figures and accents that makes him stand out. The stand out one for me is his unrestricted Queen impersonation that has a unique twist and makes me laugh everytime. His boy next door appearance really works with his humour and gives him his own identity.

3. Miranda Hart
There is a lot of stick in this country for the lack of  female comedians touring the circuit and on comedy shows, however that doesn't mean that we don't have any. Miranda Hart is one of the most loved comedians regardless of gender and has made her name in comedy and television. Like Jack Whitehall, she was brought up in a very different background but uses it to her advantage to create unique and hilarious material. This comedy has been adapted for TV on her show Miranda where we see aspects of Miranda's own life being put in her character and the trials and tribulations of being socially awkward as well as being in love with someone. I love watching her stuff because I always feel as if I am not alone in being so awkward.

4. Michael McIntyre
Michael McIntyre is one of the most loved comedians in the entire country and there is no question that he is absolutely stunning. He is the tubby and loveable comedian that you just want to hug whenever you see him *not in a creepy way mind you* and he makes comedy relatable whether you're 13 or 30, a student or a parent. He doesn't rely on crude and dark humour or using expletives *that's swear words to normal people* and exemplifies everything good and funny in British people that you can watch as a family. I have cried with laughter at pretty much everything he does and he is just a man who is doing what he loves and has really bouncy hair.

5. Sarah Millican
Sarah Millican is another amazing female comedian that makes you feel at ease whenever she is performing because you know that you won't be disappointed. With her high pitch Geordie accent, she has the perfect voice for keeping you engaged because she knows how to use it. She comes from an altogether different background from Jack and Miranda and this makes her one of the most relatable comedians in the world. She breaks all stereotypes and uses the criticism of people on her image and size to her advantage. She shows that, as long as you have a dream and pursue it, you shouldn't let anyone stop you and someone's definition of 'beautiful' is not necessarily what everyone thinks.
Not to say that there aren't hundreds more. If you have time, search for the likes of: Ed Byrne, Dara O'Brien, Hugh Dennis, Frankie Boyle or just watch Mock The Week and find your own.

That's all for now my dears,
See you soon

What the Future holds!

Hi my lil' fairies It's been a month since I've graduated and, since that day, I've been hit with questions left, right and centre about what I'm going to do with the rest of my life. As I've said in the last post, that scares me shitless because I still think I'm too young to know what the future's going to be like and I'm in denial that I'm not in education anymore to use as an excuse... That's not to say that I've been sat on my arse since I finished in May! As soon as I got home, I was lucky enough to have a job at Hollister waiting for me so, as long as I can get the hours, that's what I'll be doing to pass the time and earn some cash. On top of that, I'm also trying to get work experience here and there, apply for jobs and still do all the stuff I love like writing my blogs and stories. However, the fact that I've been so busy, has helped me not like go into an existential crisis BUT it means I've always

Ear Piercing Debate

Hi my lil' fairies, It seems like all I ever seem to do is complain about what I've seen on my usual weekday morning television schedule, which normally includes Lorraine, This Morning and Loose Women! I can normally watch pretty much any segment and understand both perspectives, but, today, I watched a segment about a debate that has been talked about before and is just increasingly angering me each time. Would you let your toddler get their ears pierced? Here's the video from the last time it was debated: I know it's a question that raises controversy but my main issue was the argument from the woman who opposed it: getting your toddler's ears pierced is child abuse. EXCUSE ME?!? Here's my stance on this issue as a whole: I got my ears pierced when I was a small baba because it's pretty much normal in my culture and the same thing happened to my sister when she was little. I never found anything weird about it and, fast forward 20

Halloween Costume Controversy Response

Hello my lil' fairies Sometimes, I'll be watching daytime telly (Loose Women, This Morning etc) and I'll stumble upon a topic of discussion that really sparks a reaction inside of me which I normally respond to by tweets. This morning I was watching Good Morning Britain and a topic came up that I knew needed a lot more than just 240 characters. It's something that is extremely close to my heart and really relevant at the moment. I am a massive Disney fan and meeting the characters and Princesses at Disneyworld are memories I won't forget. It's also Halloween and millions of little children are going out to buy costumes of their favourite Princesses like Cinderella, Elsa and Jasmine. So, you can imagine my surprise when I heard Susanna Reid and Richard Madeley talking about the cultural appropriation of Halloween costumes, and in particular Moana and Elsa costumes. My view might be controversial in this PC society but, as someone of ethnic origin, I thin
