I Hate My Life... Well I don't Hate this song

Hiya guys,

I am actually sticking to Music Friday this week even though I have an essay because something extremely exciting happened yesterday. My babes Beside the Bridge (who I wrote about a few weeks ago) released their second single and video after 2 years called I Hate My Life. Naturally I wanted to write about it being the person I am.

The intro of the song automatically made me think of the 1975! Now that is not a bad thing because it really gave me a vibe to start bopping my head. The whole ambiance and lighting of the video is pretty much perfect.

Now I wont lie, when I heard the title of the song, I assumed it was going to be one of those tacky pop songs complaining (a bit like Hate Your Guts by McBusted which I love btw.) Luckily I was treated to a beautiful melody with lyrics that are awesome. I love the little niggly things like the stuff we hate combined with those lyrics that indirectly talk about love but not in that soppy way that most artists use.

For me the tune and the way that the melody blends with the drum and bass beat is literally the most amazing thing ever and it is so sweet and soothing to my ears. Even though it isn't as hard as Weigh You Down, it still holds that rawness and the ability to capture your attention and retain it for the entire song.

I won't lie but it made me emotional, not because it is a sad song but because it draws me in so much and I became drawn to everything about it. I want to commend the boys on the song itself because I waited for so long for it and it didn't disappoint me.

Onto the video, I love the simplicity of it because even with just the instruments and the lighting, it hits you like a ton of bricks and is so bloody effective. There were no gimicks just the boys showing off their musical talents as well as the passion they have for their art! I wish more artists would work their way up and appreciate every single second as well as their fans.

So to conclude, I definitely recommend it. Not because I am bias but I acted as if I didnt know the boys and listened to it from an outside perspective. I want to congratulate the boys and tell them that they can continue what they are doing because it is amazing.

They know I love them and the music (mainly because I was tweeting Rasmus up to the lead up) and they do inspire me as an amateur musician and music lover.

Once again boys, if you're reading this, thank you so much for being a rock and making me smile.

#So let me know in the comments what you all think

That's all for now my dears,
See you soon

My Dissertation Story

Hi my lil' fairies Hasn't it been a long time since I've spoken to you lovely people? Well my title can probably tell you why. I am in my third year of university and the last few months have consisted of research and writing my dissertation. However, after a solid 7 months, I finally handed my dissertation in on Monday and I can't tell you how much of a weight has been lifted off me. It's almost like this 10, 966 words (I know, I cut it very finely on the word count) have become part of me, mainly because I have invested so much time and effort into it. Before I even started to stress about writing it, I had to come up with an idea for it. I chose my overall topic the year before and this meant that I had to pick within the topic, but it didn't mean restrictions - it was the opposite for me. I picked the cultural revolution in Germany and Britain and this gave me endless possibilities. Initially, I chose to do Britain because I thought that my lack of Ger...

Lawson - Perspective Track by Track Album Review

Hiya Guys, You may be shocked to hear that this post brings back Music Friday **except it's on a Tuesday *so it's Tune Tuesday* bc why not** In 2012, 4 piece band Lawson released their debut album Chapman Squar e which peaked at number 4 in the UK album charts with emotional and heart wrenching tracks like Stolen and The Girl I Knew.  Fast forward 4 years, of which included Andy having a near death experience and months of writing, the long awaited second album  Perspective has finally been released. This is an absolutely amazing album filled with love, passion, some brilliant chord progressions, amazing vocals and some awesome guitar solos! So here is my track by track review of the album and please bare with me and read to the end *it is worth it*: Perspective (Intro) This track is a great way to start the new album and real...

The Start of Something New

Hiya Guys, Contrary to the title and my love of Disney, this blog post isn't all about High School Musical (but one day maybe). Today I had my last exam and that officially signals the end of my college life and, even though I am excited for a new start, I thought I'd reminisce on my time and also give some of you lovely people advice if you are starting college. I never really expected to enjoy college as much as I did because High School was life changing and really brought me out of my shell. However, college really defined who I was as a person and who I want to be in the future. It also helped me grow as a person by giving me my first taste of independence and I met people I hope will stay in my life forever. I'm not saying that college is the route for everyone because there are so many different options like finding a job or doing an apprenticeship. But, for me, college was something I'd always wanted and knew that it would give me skills to combat the...
