The Shopping Guide to not going bankrupt at Christmas

Hiya Guys,

I once again apologise for the lack of Music Friday, I had little time and no stand out aspect of music that I really wanted to talk about so please send me some suggestions for next week as I will be more free as I finish for the term. However, this means that I will try and do more normal posts this week and some are witty like this one and have some sort of useful advice.

As we all know, it's Christmas soon which means that we are all of shopping in different places for those gifts for friends and family. This also means that you're going to be going shopping somewhere where shops are having sales and tempting you with everything from clothes to unnecessary trinkets. Don't worry, as a shopoholic I have been there (take yesterday for example where I went to wander around Oxford Road and bought £20 worth of stuff from H&M when I had gone for Xmas shopping) and I want to impart some wisdom I wish I knew.

Here are a list of tips to make sure that you don't break your bank this Christmas but you get everything you need with minimum stress and  a few little treats:

1. Have a list before hand of who you are buying for and what sort of shops you want to look in. I know it may be hard but it's also easier if you have a few present ideas in mind and places that stock it so you aren't looking around like a headless chicken. This is easier for me as I love making lists, but it also makes sure that you stay on topic and don't awkwardly forget someone.

2. Get the shops out of the way that you know you need to go too. If you stop at every store thinking 'oh that would look nice on me,' STOP and walk away. Get all the stuff you need and then if you have money to spare then go and buy it because you don't want to buy millions of things for yourself and realise the Christmas present budget has gone.

3. Look for deals because it isn't a sin for wanting to get the best product for the best price. If you see something you love, search online and see if you can get it for the same quality but at a better price. Look out for stores that match prices and see if anywhere gives little perks for example free gift wrapping or buy one get one free. Cheap doesn't mean stingy, it can mean that you can buy more for your loved one for your budget.

4. Set a budget, I know it seems stupid but if you have an idea of how much you want to spend and stick within the boundaries then there is no chance that you're going to regret something later on. A budget is not for cheap people, it is for smart shoppers!

5. Go early or late but allow yourself plenty of time. I know it seems awful to get up early but it is definitely worth it because the shops are a lot less busy, same if you go late at night and it will stop you feeling claustrophobic and make everything run a lot smoother. Make sure you don't rush, give yourself the maximum amount of time so you aren't tiring yourself out too much.

6.Take breaks is key! I know that everyone seems to be rushing during Christmas season but if you feel tired then take a break. Either find somewhere to sit or do what I love which is finding a nice coffee shop and getting a hot chocolate to sit in with and have a sandwich or something (mine's normally a BLT) to refuel you with energy.

So with these tips, you should be able to do your shopping without a glitch and, if you have free time and money, treat yourself to that ornament or checked shirt that you eyed on the way in.

Happy Christmas and Happy Shopping!

That's all for now my dears,
See you soon

What the Future holds!

Hi my lil' fairies It's been a month since I've graduated and, since that day, I've been hit with questions left, right and centre about what I'm going to do with the rest of my life. As I've said in the last post, that scares me shitless because I still think I'm too young to know what the future's going to be like and I'm in denial that I'm not in education anymore to use as an excuse... That's not to say that I've been sat on my arse since I finished in May! As soon as I got home, I was lucky enough to have a job at Hollister waiting for me so, as long as I can get the hours, that's what I'll be doing to pass the time and earn some cash. On top of that, I'm also trying to get work experience here and there, apply for jobs and still do all the stuff I love like writing my blogs and stories. However, the fact that I've been so busy, has helped me not like go into an existential crisis BUT it means I've always

Ear Piercing Debate

Hi my lil' fairies, It seems like all I ever seem to do is complain about what I've seen on my usual weekday morning television schedule, which normally includes Lorraine, This Morning and Loose Women! I can normally watch pretty much any segment and understand both perspectives, but, today, I watched a segment about a debate that has been talked about before and is just increasingly angering me each time. Would you let your toddler get their ears pierced? Here's the video from the last time it was debated: I know it's a question that raises controversy but my main issue was the argument from the woman who opposed it: getting your toddler's ears pierced is child abuse. EXCUSE ME?!? Here's my stance on this issue as a whole: I got my ears pierced when I was a small baba because it's pretty much normal in my culture and the same thing happened to my sister when she was little. I never found anything weird about it and, fast forward 20

Halloween Costume Controversy Response

Hello my lil' fairies Sometimes, I'll be watching daytime telly (Loose Women, This Morning etc) and I'll stumble upon a topic of discussion that really sparks a reaction inside of me which I normally respond to by tweets. This morning I was watching Good Morning Britain and a topic came up that I knew needed a lot more than just 240 characters. It's something that is extremely close to my heart and really relevant at the moment. I am a massive Disney fan and meeting the characters and Princesses at Disneyworld are memories I won't forget. It's also Halloween and millions of little children are going out to buy costumes of their favourite Princesses like Cinderella, Elsa and Jasmine. So, you can imagine my surprise when I heard Susanna Reid and Richard Madeley talking about the cultural appropriation of Halloween costumes, and in particular Moana and Elsa costumes. My view might be controversial in this PC society but, as someone of ethnic origin, I thin
