My Comprehensive Guide to my Favourite All Time Low songs

Hiya Guys,

So I am going to finally get to see All Time Low in concert next Friday in Manchester, however it means that Music Friday may have to be moved as there is no way I can write the post on the Friday night. I thought that, to celebrate this momentous occasion that I've been waiting for for about 6 years, that I would write about my 5 top songs from All Time Low.
Unfortunately, with 6 studio albums and countless numbers of EPs, this has been one of the hardest tasks that I've had to do. So, please do not be mad if one of your favourite songs hasn't been mentioned. I most likely love it but it would've taken forever so I'm picking one song off each album, except The Party Scene that I'm going to substitute with Put Up or Shup Up and Dirty Work has been sacrificed (even though I love every song on it).

So here we go, in album chronological order:

1. Put Up or Shut Up EP
Jasey Rae

This song is one of those songs that put a huge smile on my face whenever it comes on whether it be the EP version or the acoustic one. Lyrically amazing but also endearing in terms of the melody and the feeling you get when it gets to specific verses. 'I've never lit a match, with intent to start a fire, but recently the flames, are getting out of control,' is one of those lyrics that really hits home and you can relate it to your life somehow. It's so different live and the use of the electric guitars give it much more of an edge than it sounds acoustically but both are as effective but in different ways.

2. So Wrong, It's Right
Dear Maria, Count Me In

Sorry if you believe me to be a cliche for picking such a well known and mainstream ATL song but, you have to admit, it is one of the catchiest and best songs that they've ever released. It's my go to song if I'm ever sad because its just pure cheek from the lyrics to the mental music video that never ceases to make me chuckle. From the starting guitar strum, you know straight away that you're going be jumping around your room like a mad person and it's because every part of this song works perfectly together.

3. Nothing's Personal
Stella

This song is probably less mainstream but is probably one of the top songs out of all these songs on this list and it didn't become top until a long time had passed since the album was released. I don't really know why except the fact that I love being able to belt it and, on the chanting bit, I feel like jumping on my bed and clapping my hands to the rhythm. There's also a lot of shoulder shakes and the feeling I get when I watch it live is second to none. Crazy to think that such an amazing song came from a brand of beer but thank God!

4. Nothing's Personal
Lost in Stereo

This is my work out song that I always start with at the gym because it literally gets me so energised and pumped to want to actually do so exercise. The upbeat drum introduction really sets the tone for the rest of the song and I'm not surprised that this song is always on the set list for the show because it's one of those songs that you just have to dance to and jump up and down like there's no tomorrow. The words aren't hugely difficult in the chorus but the lyrics in the verses make up for the simplicity which is actually quite effective anyway.

5. Don't Panic (Including Don't Panic: It's Longer Now)
Paint You Wings

This is probably one of the less mainstream songs that All Time Low are known for and another track which has become on e of my favourites until recently. The first line is so confusing as it doesn't tell you anything as it doesn't link in with the title but that's what I love about it and a lot of other songs by them. The melody to the song is so catchy and he constant change of pitch, tempo and style keeps the song interesting and a tune that you just somemetimes hum. It took a long time to pick from this album as it's probably one of their best ones but I like the diversity of this song.

6. Future Hearts
Missing You

I fell in love with this song as soon as I heard it and not just becomes it makes me cry every time I hear it on my phone or live. It's lyrically deep and although it initially sounds quite dark, the actual message of it is that nothing's your fault. Do what you want to get those emotions out and, even if you're in your darkest place, there's always light so don't give up trying to feel better. It's that song that makes you feel part of something bigger and that someone actually gives a damn about you. It's sang beautifully with Alex taking main vocals and Zack bringing in some heavenly harmonies which just completes the song.

That's all for now my dears,
See you soon

My Dissertation Story

Hi my lil' fairies Hasn't it been a long time since I've spoken to you lovely people? Well my title can probably tell you why. I am in my third year of university and the last few months have consisted of research and writing my dissertation. However, after a solid 7 months, I finally handed my dissertation in on Monday and I can't tell you how much of a weight has been lifted off me. It's almost like this 10, 966 words (I know, I cut it very finely on the word count) have become part of me, mainly because I have invested so much time and effort into it. Before I even started to stress about writing it, I had to come up with an idea for it. I chose my overall topic the year before and this meant that I had to pick within the topic, but it didn't mean restrictions - it was the opposite for me. I picked the cultural revolution in Germany and Britain and this gave me endless possibilities. Initially, I chose to do Britain because I thought that my lack of Ger...

Lawson - Perspective Track by Track Album Review

Hiya Guys, You may be shocked to hear that this post brings back Music Friday **except it's on a Tuesday *so it's Tune Tuesday* bc why not** In 2012, 4 piece band Lawson released their debut album Chapman Squar e which peaked at number 4 in the UK album charts with emotional and heart wrenching tracks like Stolen and The Girl I Knew.  Fast forward 4 years, of which included Andy having a near death experience and months of writing, the long awaited second album  Perspective has finally been released. This is an absolutely amazing album filled with love, passion, some brilliant chord progressions, amazing vocals and some awesome guitar solos! So here is my track by track review of the album and please bare with me and read to the end *it is worth it*: Perspective (Intro) This track is a great way to start the new album and real...

The Start of Something New

Hiya Guys, Contrary to the title and my love of Disney, this blog post isn't all about High School Musical (but one day maybe). Today I had my last exam and that officially signals the end of my college life and, even though I am excited for a new start, I thought I'd reminisce on my time and also give some of you lovely people advice if you are starting college. I never really expected to enjoy college as much as I did because High School was life changing and really brought me out of my shell. However, college really defined who I was as a person and who I want to be in the future. It also helped me grow as a person by giving me my first taste of independence and I met people I hope will stay in my life forever. I'm not saying that college is the route for everyone because there are so many different options like finding a job or doing an apprenticeship. But, for me, college was something I'd always wanted and knew that it would give me skills to combat the...
