5SOS Sounds Live, Feels Live x2

Hiya Guys, I was extremely quiet last week but on top of essay's, I had some busy evenings in the form of going to see WWE live in Manchester and two night's of 5SOS. So, back onto what I love doing the most on this blog - MUSIC FRIDAY CONCERT REVIEW!! The weeks preceding the 5 Seconds of Summer concerts, I didn't really feel an overwhelming sense of excitement due to university work but come the Friday morning, I was itching to see these 4 Aussie idiots again! Then by Sunday morning, after two amazing nights, I was feeling down and suffering 'post 5SOS-itous' and it was because they were two amazing nights. Luke and Michael admitted from the word go that they were not feeling on top of the world as they both had dry throats and felt very ill. Well all I can say is that if I sounded as good as they did when they were ill normally then I would be more than happy. Although I thought they were brilliant on Friday, you could tell that they were much happier ...

American Idol Top 5 Performances

Hiya Guys, I am suffering post-American Idol depression and I sort of feel empty not having a huge number of performances to catch up on... but it means that I haven't got an excuse to procrastinate and can actually get work done. But, I don't want to let go yet and I love procrastinating so I thought, 'Why not do what I do best?' That would be creating lists of my favourite things so let's get onto my top 5 favourite performances from the entire series of American Idol. This was one of the hardest posts to do as there were so many performances that I loved for different reasons. 1. Dalton Rapattoni - Bird Set Free by Sia Now, I know this may seem bias as I have been a Dalton fan for a year now but this performance was something that I will never forget and don't want to forget. Firstly, Sia did an amazing job with this song and the lyrics of this song are now probably some of my favourite ever lyrics because they have so much meaning and is very relatab...

The End of the American Idol Era! - FInale Night

Hiya Guys, As many of you who've read my other posts know, I have been pretty much addicted to this series of American Idol (even though I am from the UK) and I am sad to say it has finally finished. After 14 years, they've hung up the microphones and packed up the stage and ended on a high! This series has been absolutely amazing and I have witnessed some amazing and talented singers that are really going to influence the music industry in the years to come. But these last two days of the finale have really ended the show on a high note.  I was extremely devastated when Dalton got voted out but I am so incredibly proud of how much he has achieved and he couldn't have lost out to two better people! Trent and La'Porshe are absolutely stunning singers and I don't think I could have predicted a better final. Wednesday night really heated up the process with it being on a much larger scale in terms of staging and audience as well as more to lose. Dalton...

Book... I PICK YOU!

Hiya guys, The title of this post is pretty self explanatory and I feel like these kind of posts are nice because they don't trick you and give you an insight into my crazy life. It's crazy how in my dads time, it wasn't 'cool' to be interested in books and now, everywhere you look, it seems as if books are becoming so much more mainstream and encouraged. Here are my top 4 books but they are in no order because I could never choose between my babies.           1. The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky This is one book I refuse to not have with me so it goes literally everywhere with me from Manchester to London. I think it was because the book had so much meaning and was the first book I felt as if I connected too. Charlie has a bit of everyone in him and it just means that you can relate to his character in some way without you feeling as if your diary is being read by millions. The fact that Chbosky has managed to touch on some reali...

Help! Essays are due!

Hiya guys, This week is another attempt at helping you gorgeous people to learn things through my mistakes. It is that time of the year and whether you've already given in essays or have some to give in, everyone will need help at some point. Please don't just take my word for it as I am only a first year university student and cannot help with content or structure . However, here are just a few points that I wish I'd known when I started doing essays and things that I do now that really help my essay writing process. Essay's, whether they be for a humanities or a science subject, have a core aim and that is too write about a specific topic to show your understanding and ability to write coherently and for a purpose so hopefully this can be partly useful to everyone. 1. Once you've chosen a question, step back and think about what it is asking Get the question and analyse it. What is the question word? Is it 'why, what, to what extent,' and figur...

Will Jay is an angel!

Hiya guys, Time for me to introduce you to yet another artist that I am loving at the moment and literally listen to on a near hourly basis. Will Jay Behlendorf is a 19 year old singer/ songwriter from LA who used to be in the boyband IM5 but has been a solo artist for longer than a year. Isn't he adorable? I don't even know where to start with the masterpiece that is Will Jay so I guess I will say a bit about him and his personality then I will go onto his music and list some of the standout aspects of his musical talents and then link you to some of my favourite videos of him.  Will is the sweetest person ever and is a combination of being slightly geeky, very talented and such a gentleman. When he was part of IM5, he was ever so shy and introverted but when he was comfortable with an interviewer, such as Ava from On The Spot Interviews, he really burst out of his bubble and he would come out with some of the best one liners I have ever heard. He is the kind ...

The Big Pop Punk Debate!

Hiya Guys, Once again, I am sorry for the lack of posts but it seems as if living the life of a university student isn't as calm and easy as everyone told me. This week's music is something that really sparks a lot of arguments on YouTube comments and that is the on the subject of pop punk and what different people think it is. The Wikipedia definition of pop punk is 'music typically combining fast punk tempos, chord changes and loud guitars with pop-influenced melodies and lyrical themes.' This definition seems pretty straightforward and is open to interpretation but then why does it cause so much aggression in the world of music? Although the genre seemed to be going through a decline in the late 2000s, much to the disgust of some people, the pop punk platform has become much more mainstream and is being popular for a much younger audiences.  This debate has been around since the start and showed in the 2000s with people calling out Blink 182 and Greend...
